Calm = Stunning

All the big fashion designers are starting to publish their new ad campaign for the Spring-Summer 2013 collection. Yes, I know it is freezing outside - I started wearing two coats at the same time, but this is just the way it is in fashion. Usually I find in each season few campaigns I really like, but this season I totally fell in love with three of them: CELINE, PRADA, BALENCIAGA.

I think the reason for my immediate crush, you know what, it's not a crush because crushes are coming and going and I feel like I will love these ads forever :) (ok..maybe it was just a little bit too dramatic)... So I was saying, the reason I love them so much is because there is something so calm, almost sporty (without being sporty at all) about all three of them, each in a completely different way, that makes the attitude of the picture and clothes just so beautiful.

In Prada it's the face of the amazing models they picked (and the best one is Raquel Zimmermann - in the right first picture above) with the composition and the way the clothes are just resting on the body. In Celine it's the way they shoot it and the fact they decided (again) to show us the amazing so natural beauty of model Daria Werbowy, along with the clothes ohh these so simple but yet so sophisticated and stunning clothes. And in Balenciaga they just left the wavy movement of the clothes to talk, while  emphasizing it with its opposite: rough compositions and black and white pictures.

My Golden Golden

I can't really ignore the Annual Golden Globe Awards that took place two days ago. Maybe it's cheesy, but I must say: I love the red carpet. One of my first posts was about the Emmy Awards' red carpet, then I picket only the best dressed because I felt that with so much beauty, it will be best to ignore what's not. So I'll keep it also this time.

These are my favorites:

Ready, Get set - SHOP

It’s true I love shopping, and who doesn’t like sales. This is my first Christmas in the US, and it’s weird to say but I can’t quite get this massive shopping thing around the holiday. I did pay a visit to all the stores I love, which of course most of them have an amazing window these days, but somehow I just  don’t feel like buying anything. I guess the problem is with me…

Anyhow, this holidays’ spirit made me do a list of my own.
A girl can dream, right?! :)

My list: From left top - Gold Boots that are the reason I started this list (3.1 Phillip Lim), Sunglasses (Karen Walker), Black Clutch (3.1 Phillip Lim), Sweatshirt (MM6), Coat (Alexander Wang), Jeans Shirt (Madewell), Bracelets (Ruby Star - Israeli designer), Gloves (Miu Miu), White Jeans (Acne), Bag (TES - Israeli designer), Lipsticks (Clinique), Rings (Noritamy - Israeli designer), Mini iPad (I didn't know I wanted it until I got it as a present. It's perfect), Perfume(Maison Martin Margiela - untitled l'eau, I have one but will never refuse another),Eye Shadow (Clinique), Boots (Daniela Lehavi - Israeli designer). That's all

Pajamas

The first time I’ve noticed pajamas can be beautiful was when I was about 11 years old while watching the film Sliding Doors. I guess my fashion sense started developing at that time... Years later I was still looking (and finally found) for a grey cotton robe, similar to the one Gwyneth Paltrow wore in that film (see pics above).

In the past year, old-fashion pajamas became a little trend and I love it. I love the whole pajamas sets and I love those shirts that look a bit like a pajama to wear during the day, outside the house, although I didn’t find yet the perfect one for me (still looking).

I decided to make a post on pajamas first because of the holiday season and second because I just came back very tired from a short first home visit as a “tourist” (how weird is that?!). I really don’t know why, but I remember that as a child Hanukkah was a pajama holiday – we got a new one each year and now while living in the US, I noticed that the Christmas shopping state of mind is also around pajamas.

As I mentioned before, I do love the old-fashion pajama suits, but as for me I guess I prefer just to look at them and not actually wear them. When bed-time comes I just prefer to wear my simple white “grandfather” tanks (this is how we call it in Israel) paired with panties – these are my bed uniforms for the past 10 years  – Summer, Winter, Spring and Fall.

And while doing that I wonder – Will I eventually wear a real pajama suit to bed or I’ll just keep dreaming on it…?

Things I Love and A Word I Hate

Left: top - Proenza Schouler, bottom - Dries Van Noten, Right: top - Marc Jacobs

I finally got the conclusion! ACCESSORIES is a word I really hate. When you say it about a great bag or a stunning necklace or scarf you make it sound less than it really is, it even sounds cheap. I think that bags, shoes, jewelry, scarfs etc. are more of an attitude, a spirit and can usually emphasize a state of mind, and because of this we shouldn't generalize them all in one word. If you think about it, just a shirt can be an accessory too. In that sense, my current obsession is with not just a specific item, but a part of the body. The shoulders and neck area is one of my favorite parts in a woman's body, and I figure - why not help showing it. There are many ways to  do that and that’s the perfect way to use color.

P.S.
Don’t miss the inspiration bellow.
