WHITE Winter WHITE

Let’s talk about WHITE. And not just white, but White for Winter. I know that when you think about this color, the first thing that pops out is summer and Romantic style and mostly combination of both..and not...let’s say - boots or coats or big sweaters. So I don't know if the fact that this winter, my first winter in the US, I saw so much white, snow I mean, more than I ever saw  in my life is the reason, but I fell in love with white clothing for winter! It's so cozy, not like the cold snow, but also pure, shining and...exactly like the snow!

Ok, so the winter is almost over, and while writing this post I'm already two weeks in the Israeli weather (Winter here is not even Fall and now it looks like the beginning of Summer already), so with this comparison and without, the conclusion is:  I love white winter - snow, clothes, shoes, bags (and let’s pretend it doesn't include mud, rain and other terrible things).

My wish list for next winter

While thinking about this post, the collections for Fall-Winter 2013 were just started to be shown in Europe Fashion Weeks - London, Milan and of course Paris, so I decided to wait and see if we are going to wear WHITE next winter. And I was so happy to discover we definitely will. And it will be so casual and cool and big and cozy, so much like what you imagine the dark colors clothes for winter supposed to look like, but WHITE! I know it won't be the same at all in summer, white wise, so winter, just so you know, me and my white wardrobe will be waiting.

Ohh NY NY

New York Fashion Week for the Fall-Winter 2013 season has just ended, and even though I followed the shows on my computer screen while wishing I was there, almost touching the models walking down the runways, I can say it was not less than extraordinary (see for example the amazing details from 3.1 Phillip Lim - first 3 above and model Marina Deleeuw in the second 3 in Derek Lam, Rag & Bone and Proenza Schouler, by the way - I think she's the next big thing!). 

The magic for me in New York Fashion Week is always the tension between rough and soft, between street and intelligent high chic, between simple and over the top, or if I need to sum it up to more concrete terms - between leather and lace. 

I admire the fact that many designers keep walking on this thin line, but still never look back and being nostalgic or doing the same things that worked before, but looking forward and inventing themselves once again. It was really a big celebration of fashion, so inspiring, the way I love it the most.
