The Smell I Wear

I guess it will sound weird, but the first time I used a perfume, and actually bought one I liked, was less than a year ago. Fashion and smell are walking side by side forever, but for some reason I decided years ago that if I use a perfume I feel dirty (what?!? I know...it's too weird to understand).

But then something happened and I discovered the Maison Martin Margiela - (untitled)  l'eau - perfume (picture above) and became addicted. I just love this smell and I "wear" it every day since that day. I can’t really describe it, but I can say what it’s not: It's not at all sweet, it's not too sour and it's not too spicy,it's not too much - just perfect! And the bottle is so beautifully minimalist and clean and the color of the liquid is fresh green-yellowish. I'm not going to replace it any time soon, and no, I don't believe in variety, but I did notice that what attracts me the most in a perfume before I even smell it is the minimalist bottle of course but more importantly- the liquid's color and the clean-fresh attitude. These are the ones I would be happy to try (no strings attached)(ok, except for the Dries Van Noten new perfume - I'm sure I'm going to love it).

Dreaming about you, Paris

The thing with living in a different country, not at home in Israel, is that every day you learn something new and every hour you see something you did not see before. It is really great when you pass the phase when it's difficult to live far from home, and right after you get to the point you accept the new place as your new home, and love it. It took me a while, but I am definitely there. But in the past week I really wanted to be somewhere else - I wished to be in Paris. I wrote before about fashion week in New York, and it was really great to follow the shows, even it was only by style.com. Paris Fashion Week is different. I just wanted to be there. To feel the city, to feel the fashion, to live the inspiration. So each and every day I was attached to the coverage of the shows in style.com and tried to live Paris in the US. I couldn't find the words to describe what I saw there, it was just so amazing. The Parisian chic is just...see for yourself. These are my favorite looks from my favorite shows in Paris fashion week, along with what I did here, far away from there, while thinking about it all the time. The story, this time, is really just about the visuals, so try to look at the details like they were words to read. Enjoy.
